life on the farm
where the flowers grow
Our small flock of chickens are a constant presence in the garden and the fields. They also have their own Twitter feed.
We also have three dogs, who spend equal time lounging inside on the furniture and roaming the property.
Several hives of bees enjoy the flowers and reward us with honey.
Oh, glorious spring! The fields have turned from brown to green, and the first flush of flowers has begun. The weather makes working outside a pleasure -- on most days.
There are so many things that need to be done, and all of them are priorities: harvest blooms, seed new plants in the greenhouse, transplant baby plants to the fields, get drip irrigation installed, and so much more!
If only spring lasted longer -- soon the sweltering days of summer will be here, and the tulips, ranunculus, and all of the other spring blooms will gone until next year.
